Crest Program

 

CREST: Crest stands for Child Care, Recreation, Enrichment, Sports, Together

The CREST program brings together childcare, playground access, enrichment classes and sports activities for Roosevelt Students in grades K-5. The CREST program was carefully developed as a joint partnership between the City of Santa Monica and Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.

Child Care at Roosevelt includes before and after-school care from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM. There are several types of option and fee schedules available:

  • Full time - K-5, Before and after school
  • AM only - K-5, Before school only, 7:00-8:30 AM
  • Early Express - K only, Dismissal until 2:45 PM
  • 3 days a week - Grades 4 and 5

The Roosevelt Primary CREST Childcare program provides an exciting, quality childcare program for grades Kindergarten through grade 3. Doors open at 7 AM until the beginning of school and again after school ends until 6PM, Monday through Friday.

Some of the great enrichment activities happening everyday include:

  • Arts and crafts, complete with a final Art Show
  • Homework Help
  • Music
  • Science
  • Cooking
  • D.E.A.R. Time (Drop Everything and Read)
  • Computers
  • Photography
  • Field trips
  • A variety of individual and team sports

The Roosevelt Upper CREST Childcare program provides an exciting, quality childcare program for grades 4 and 5. The program begins after school ends and runs until 6PM, Monday through Friday.

Playground Access provides a supervised, unstructured opportunity for all Roosevelt children, 1-5, after school. There is no fee for this program.

First and second graders have 30 minutes of playground access and third through fifth graders may stay until 5:00 PM.

Children may sign themselves in and out of playground access.

Enrichment classes are open to all Roosevelt students on a registration and fee basis. Classes may include:

  • Dance Fest
  • Tap Dance
  • Swimming
  • Tennis

Classes are typically meet once or twice a week at Roosevelt and are taught by City of Santa Monica staff.

Sports are open to all Roosevelt students on a registration and fee basis. Sports may include:

  • flag football
  • volleyball
  • basketball
  • soccer
  • track and field

The SuperStars program is open to grades K-2. Practices are typically once a week for an hour.

The Sports Leagues are open to grades 3-5. Roosevelt has its own teams and we compete against the other elementary schools in the disrict. Practices are typically 1 to 1 1/2 hours twice a week.
